Selection undone after zooming on selection

I'm still using 1.4.7, and I haven't upgraded to 1.4.8, so this might be fixed already.
Working with the Applications or Computer Usage timelines, when I make a selection in the lower-left pane, and choose "Zoom to selection" in the Tags timeline context menu, zoom is performed appropriately, but my selection gets undone, I have to redo it. :-(

Well this is by design. When we were working on it, we just thought it was more natural to clear the selection after zooming, as if the selection was made just for zooming.
We can change this, it would just have to zoom a little further out, lets say 5 min extra on either side so the selection doesn't fill the whole area.

I can understand that, especially for a selection that was made with the mouse. But for a selection that was made from the lower-left pane, it's quite a bit frustrating. :)
Maybe adding a few minutes on each side (or rather, a proportion of the length of time selected) would be the best of both worlds.
