I've never had a technical glitch like this before and I'm completely stumped. I had to do a complete system reset last week and I finally got around to reinstalling ManicTime a few days ago. Awesome program, by the way!

After I installed it, the icon didn't show up in the taskbar notification area and I can't get the display to show up. According to my task manager, however, the program is running. I also looked at the text-document log that is located in the program file and it appears to be tracking programs as it should, but I cannot get the display to appear so I can't interact with the program.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and I even found an earlier version and installed that one with no success. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm using Windows XP Professional and I've been using your program for almost two years now. I work from home for three different employers so this program was a "godsend". I really hope you can help me.

Thank you!

I'm sure we will figure it out. Do you have 64 bit or 32 bit win xp?

First close all processes of MT. Then download this version
www.manictime.com/setup/v1_4_8_beta/manictime.zip
and overwrite all files in Program files/ManicTime

Then start ManicTime.exe.

If it is no better, please send us log files to support@manictime.com. You will find them in

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Finkit\ManicTime\Logs

Please send us all files in the folder.

This is the exception you get
The type initializer for 'System.Windows.Media.FontFamily' threw an exception.

We found this thread which looks similar

So try disabling the "Windows Presentation Font Cache" Windows service.

Let me know how it goes.

Perfect! Thanks.

Here are the steps for anyone else that comes across this issue...

Step1:
Go to Run and type “services.msc”
Look for a service name “Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0″ and stop it
Step 2:
Delete the file “FontCache3.0.0.0.dat”.This file is normally placed under the following file path.
Windows 7 / Vista - “%windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local”
Windows XP – “%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Application Data”
Step 3:
Restart the machine.

Thanks so much jazzuboo. Your instructions fixed the problem I'd been having since migrating to Win 7 Pro.
