On the "Timesheet" tab, I see that there is an option to "Include notes". How do we add those notes?

Hello mandelmus,

You can only add notes for Tags. The notes for Autotags are actually descriptions (which should be renamed as such). To add notes for Tags, right click your tag and hit Edit. See attached image for reference.

Whenever you enter a tag, you can also add tag notes. Jonlau already attached one image, this one is from a simplified Add tag dialog, when time is already selected.
Use notes if you have some long text and if it does not repeat often. If it does repeat, try to use a tag, because you can then easily see statistics for it.

Examples:
Tag: Client 1, Home page, Design, Meeting
Note: Meeting with Steve and Anne, talking about the logo

Tag: Client 1, Home page, Programming, Bugs
Note: Fixing display bug on Android phones

It depends on you how much info you use in the tags. If you just want to track hours worked on a project you can just use "Client 1, Home page".

@jonlau
To me autotags and tags are mostly the same, they differ in the way they are created, but if I use Copy ATs to tags, then Notes in ATs are notes in tags. I don't see why we would name it differently. Also I hope we can someday get to a unified timeline, so one for ATs and tags.

Unless I misunderstand how to add notes to Autotags, you can only have 1 note for each Autotag. If you want to have different notes for Autotags, you would have to create another Autotag with the same name. This is different from Tags, where you can have different notes per time section.
