I noticed a "web site" recorded in my timeline called "sts". When I looked at the details, it is a url of the form:

<stssync://sts/?ver=1.1&type=contacts&cmd=add-folder&base-url=http://iceo.homestead.wellsfargo.com/wsg/wts/gts/GlobalFXTechnology/complexprodta/teams&list-url=/Lists/Team%2520Contacts/>

This is from the act of connecting a MS Sharepoint list to Outlook. Perhaps the list of protocols for which "sites" should be recognized should be limited/configurable so that these do not record as such.
