Hi I got a small system issue on my windows 7. After having a new userprofile and repairing windows 7 i get an error when opening manic time. The client crashes but the process is still working.

I installed the usb-version and get the same error.

Based on your description, my guess would be a faulty .Net installation. One idea is to re install .Net 3.5 framework, but this is not very easy on Win7.
What you can try is to run it against .net 4. If you don't have it already, first install .Net4.

Then add the following to ManicTime.exe.config:
<configuration>
<startup>
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
</startup>
<appSettings>
....

Do the same for ManicTimeClient.exe.config.

Run ManicTime.exe.

And please let me know if it is working.

If you will try this, note that with every update of MT, config files get overwritten so you will have to change them again.

Done that. But i think you're right with you're guess. I mentioned a half hour ago that many other things don't work. So I'll reinstall the whole system. Thanks

You tried to run it against .net 4 and it also didn't work? I had two machines with similar issues and .net 4 worked on them.

I don't know what it is with .net 3.5 and win7 but it seems like on some machines it gets corrupted very quickly. I had similar problems on my home machine. I uninstalled .net and installed it again (http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/uninstall-net-framework-from-windows-7/).
It started working but some user elements would just crash. I made an app which only had a combobox and every time I started it it would crash. I finally reinstalled win7 and a month later after some update, it stopped working again. This time I just used .net 4 and it has been working ever since.
On other machines we have there was never a problem with this.

To bad MS baked .net into win7 and there is no easy way to reinstall it.
