I love ManicTime--love the simplicity, love the offline functionality, love the color--but just bought a Mac.

Is there plans to release ManicTime for Mac OS X in the immediate future? ....or am I going to have to go find another time management software to love?

Currently we have no plans to release a Mac version, so unfortunately for now you are going to have to find something else.

We would love to work on a Mac version, but for now there is to much stuff yet to do for Windows version and we just don't have the resources to work on two platforms at once.

ManicTime is written in Dotnet. Have you tried Mono see http://mono-project.com/Main_Page. It enable dotnet on Mac and Linux beside Windows.

We are finally getting ready to port it. Mono doesn't support WPF so we will start with the tracker and take it from there.

I do hope ManicTime for the Mac is a native Cocoa app, when it comes. Mac people appreciate (and pay well for) apps that fit in well on OS X.

That being said, as long as it the same timelines and tagging that the Windows version has, I'll be buying the Mac version no matter how it's written.

I will also be buying this application as soon as it comes out. My collegues are using the Windows version and have even built custom scripts to export the time tracked into our systems. I would love to take advantage of that.

Is Manic Time for Mac still a possibility?

We are working on it but not as much as we'd like to. We do have an alpha of the tracker app, which has minimal UI and is sending data to the server. Once we release it, we will see which UI we can port to it.

That's great to hear! Let me know if you need another alpha/beta tester :)

I can let you know when we have something to test. But you would need Windows to run a server to which the Mac would send tracked data...

I have half a dozen Windows VMs on my computer, and I now work at a company where most of the servers and almost all of the workstations are Windows boxes. So access to Windows is not a problem for me, and I don't have a problem with alpha-quality software, either. :)

Hello,
I really love Manic Time for helping me track my days and what clients I need to bill.
I am about to switch over to a Mac though and would love to continue using Manic Time. Any chance I could participate in a Beta?
Thanks,
Jonathan
