We would like to use data from ManicTime in another app we're developing. I want to be able to drag a tag from MT and drop it on another app. XML would be ideal but structured text is OK too. At a minimum, I'd like to see the tag, start, and end time.

This info is available if I copy & paste but that's not as convenient for the user as drag & drop.

Any chance this will make it onto your short term roadmap? We're building an app that will need this and we expect it to drive a significant number of ManicTime sales.

I'll take a look. Just to be clear you are talking about the details view in bottom left? User will select a couple of lines and drag them to another app?

Actually, I wanted to be able to drag the TAG to another application. After some time is tagged, allow the tag with its description, start, and end time to be dragged & dropped. If I right-click and copy a tag I can then paste it in another app. The pasted text will include this info. But, I really want to be able to drag & drop this info and would prefer that it was XML so that parsing the result isn't ambiguous.

I think the missing feature on the tag timeline is to be able to drag the tag left and right to adjust it.
If we do what you are suggesting then we can not use drag for adjusting.

Sorry.

Hadn't thought of that.

I'm happy to take what I can get. :-) How about dragging from the details list view?

Perfect! Thanks!

You guys seem to be slipping, though. 18 hours to deliver code with that change? :-)

Seriously, you're making all of our other vendor support look pretty bad.

Pure luck :)

We were just getting ready to release a version and it was not a problem to add a few last minute changes...

I recently installed v2.5.1.3 and discovered that the drag & drop feature you had added for me earlier seems to have gone missing. Can you bring that code branch back into the main build? Not a big rush but I would like to have that back.

Also, I believe the drag & drop function delivered the same info as a copy & paste, which is tag, start time, end time, and duration. The start and end times contain the time only and do not include a date. Can you add the date? I will be using this feature to move information to our time billing application and I anticipate users doing occasional "catch up" time keeping dates before today. Without the date, that won't be possible.

Thanks!

Drag drop should work. At least it does on my machine.
I'll add the dates thing to the todo.

You are right. Sorry about that. I did a quick test with Notepad and got nothing but that's because Notepad won't accept that datatype. I can drag to Word and other apps just fine.

And, the date is now in the data so I have everything I need.

Thanks!
