I would love to see two new features added to complement the existing stopwatch functionality.

1. A count down timer
2. A Pomodoro timer (e.g. https://chrome.google.co...cakijjmlelnjjiohjmlaikhb)

ManicTime and Pomodoro Technique(tm) seem like they would be a natural fit. http://www.pomodorotechnique.com/

...and Pomodoro has a fast growing following.

Hi,

I was familiar with Pomodoro Technique, that is I knew it was interval based work, but I never took the time to read any further. I took some time now to go through the ebook.
Seems like lists are a big part of the technique, but if you are only looking for a timer, like the chrome extension you referenced, we can add it.
I will put it on our todo list.

Thanks Joel for the link to pomodoro - looks very interesting. As regards Manictime timers, note that the pomodoro timer should be visible (like a kitchen timer!) as it counts down, not just a pop-up alert box. Would a little number in a system tray icon be sufficient?

Brilliant! A system tray counter would be even better than the chrome extension as I wouldn't have to leave an instance of chrome up and running. THANKS!

Hi,

I am a huge fan of ManicTime, but recently realized I am much more productive when I use the Pomodoro technique. It would therefore be extremely convenient for me to have a timer function (in addition to the stopwatch function). Are you still considering adding such a function?

Thank you for your time.

Definitively, it is actually one of the features I'd like to see for myself as well.

Any news about this feature?

It would be a great addition to ManicTime to just have the timer feature - a fully featured implementation is probably just beyond the scope of ManicTime (it's not the core functionality).

So, I'd probably call it a focus timer which, IMO, can be a great help when you have to work on boring tasks or anything one tends to procrastinate (i.e. just get that 25minutes of focused work on your tax report).

I'm also giving my vote to such feature - countdown timer that can be used to practice the Pomodoro technique.

No, and shame on us. We will add it in the near future.
