Currently, the easiest way to get some data in MT is with this
http://www.manictime.com...lient/27/custom-timeline

You can write your own tracker like you described, then just expose the data via some service.

Does this help?

Yes, this is indeed somewhat helpful. I have a custom timeline for my phone calls in place anyway. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

cheers!

(still wanting a manic time for linux, though ;-) )

Not sure if I mentioned this yet but... Awhile ago I actually had to buy ManicTime and Windows 8 and stop using Linux on my desktop altogether just so I can use ManicTime. That's just how useful and necessary it is for me. Which is a shame because I obviously would prefer to continue using Linux but I'm not going to put both on my SSD. Maybe I will have to get another SSD. But now I bought Rocksmith 2014 and I'm not so sure I would be able to get that working on Linux either so at least there's that. All the other apps I use work fine in Linux, Netbeans, Thunderbird, Firefox, Pidgin, VMWare Player, even Steam has a bunch of games these days, etc.
