Could you please send the log files.
You will find them here:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Finkit\ManicTime\Logs
Vista or Windows 7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ Finkit\ManicTime\Logs

You can send them to support@manictime.com.

I don't have this folder on my drives.
(I've searched for "Finkit" on C... nothing found).

Have you downloaded the USB version? If you have, look for the folder where ManicTime.exe is located. The logs are in subfolder Data\Logs.

The filenames should be ManicTime.log and ManicTimeClient.log.

What if you kill all MT instances and run just ManicTimeClient? Do you get anything? Does it create a log?

Don't see any window or systray icon.
There is no log file. But ManicTimeClient is in process list.

Could you make a copy of ManicTimeClient.exe, then overwrite it with attached file and run. It should create a log ManicTimeClientTest.log in the same folder as the exe. Send me the contents.
File Attachment(s):
ManicTimeClient.zip (157kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

It looks like some configuration error. In the line that fails we just try to read app.config file.

Could you go to folder
c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\

open Machine.config. Do you have the following line?

Code:
<configuration>
    <configSections>
        <section name="appSettings" type="System.Configuration.AppSettingsSection, System.Configuration, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" restartOnExternalChanges="false" requirePermission="false"/>

My guess would be that tracker is working because it is working in 64bit, client is 32bit so it looks like something is wrong with 32bit .Net.

If Machine.config is ok, we could try 64bit client, see if that makes any difference.

I don't have machine.config.
I have "machine.config.default" and "machine.config.comments"
After renaming "machine.config.default" to "machine.config" i finally see ManicTime window :D.
And yes, I have that line in that file.

So there was a problem. Strange, never been in that folder before, so why that file was deleted? I guess i'll never know.

To bad my old version still doesn't work (1.4.8), but i guess is time to upgrade :).

Thanks for help.
